In 2002 Max aka "staticcreator" posted a zip file to the Winamp.com forums.

Here it is, Winamp in your browser. It's a recreation of Winamp with skin support and it even plays mp3s. Download it and check it out. If you want to change the skin erase all the files in the "skindir" folder and extract a .wsz file to the folder. Email me if you find a bug (Click the Winamp symbol when you use the program to find it).

It's 2002 so people still don't know the difference between Java and Javascript. It seems very feature complete, and has similar ideals as this project. But it does not work on my modern browser. The email address in the html files is no longer valid.

Hi, there was a lot of improvements during this weekend, awesome work !
This issue is now closed, but I found jlGui, a Java app that mimics Winamp, compatible with wsz skins, opensource, available in the browser through an applet.

Woah cool! I'll try to get it working on my machine. I'll add it to the readme when a get a second (unless you want to submit a PR). It would be very interesting to see how closely they are emulating the native application. If they are very close, their code could be valuable as a reference. It could help us with the reverse engineering work we need to do.
