Hey @lukewalczak I had it installed originally and removed it while trying to debug. Per your recommendations I reinstalled react-native-vector-icons. At that point, I am still seeing the incorrect icons. After applying the line that @NazmaD suggested to the app/build.gradle file it ran correctly with the corresponding icons.
Thank you both!

Hey! Thanks for opening the issue. Can you provide a minimal repro which demonstrates the issue? Posting a snippet of your code in the issue is useful, but it's not usually straightforward to run. A repro will help us debug the issue faster. Please try to keep the repro as small as possible. The easiest way to provide a repro is on snack.expo.dev. If it's not possible to repro it on snack.expo.dev, then you can also provide the repro in a GitHub repository.

@rybaier I encountered a similar issue, and by incorporating the following line into the app/build.gradle and subsequently reinstalling the app worked for me.
apply from: file("../../node_modules/react-native-vector-icons/fonts.gradle")

Hey @rybaier, I couldn't find a react-native-vector-icons
to be installed in your project, which is required step in order to to have added MaterialCommunityIcons
, because some components use those internally.
Please follow the getting started, more specifically, the paragraph related to the icons installation:
At the moment I'm closing the issue.
