Yes, I've thought of this, there is some difference in coffeescript, because in PHP we don't have prototype, only class inheritence, and current haskell version will be convert js code base, for reusing current coffeescript grammar (mostly).
And No, it's not dead, just too busy to write the first version.

Well actually CoffeeScript kind of hides the prototypal nature of javascript behind a classical object model
