Hi Christian! I was wondering the same thing. Here is how I got it working:

You can configure the initialOpenState to change what nodes should be open/closed initially. You need to provide a map where the keys are the node ids and the values are true for open and false for closed.

return (<Tree
   ...
   initialOpenState={{
      myNodeId1: true | false,
   }}
>
{Node}
</Tree>)

To control the open / closed state of a node from outside the tree, you can use the Tree API:

const treeRef = useRef(null);

useEffect(() => {
  const tree = treeRef.current;
  tree.open(myNodeId1);
}, []);

return (<Tree
   ref={treeRef}
>
{Node}
</Tree>)

Hope this helps!
