Thanks to removal of a few dependencies and compilation optimization, the size of the binary is now, on my system, of 3.9Mo in release mode. If stripped, which has been added to the README, it is down to 2.4Mo.
Because of this huge improvement, this issue is now closed but may still be referenced in commit that removes dependencies.
