The workaround should mentioned in the related SO post is still relevant. You should just be able to remove your own copy of card.io.jar, and everything will work (for the time being). This assumes you're using a copy of card.io < 4.0.0. What is the issue you're having with that workaround?

The current version of the PayPal SDK included is 2.7.3 which includes card.io 3.2.0. As @braebot mentioned, you should just be able to add the *.so files and use it as is.

The next release will remove card.io from the SDK and will be available within the next month.

So there is no workaround if you are using card.io 4.0.0?

Not until the next release, no.

@braebot I was using 4.0.0, and when I took that out, the 3.2.0 version would not actually start the camera on a N5. Will watch this thread for updates on the next release of the SDK that will not have card.io included.

Hmm, it could be that 4.0.0 actually had some more changes in the native code, meaning the 3.2.0 jar file included in Braintree's SDK would not play nice with 4.0.0 *.so files. I would just wait for the Braintree release, which is itching to out the door. 😉

1.3.0 was just released and no longer includes card.io
