This gem is still under construction, but the working branch right now is spree-branch, we should have the gem up and running on branch 2-3-stable by the end of this week. To fix that problem as of right now, go into rails c, and type Spree::Config.avatax_origin = {}

Oh, awesome. I'm scoping out Spree for a potential project and this gem is a huge selling point. I'll check back later this week. Thanks for the update!
