If you added the DLL directly into Unity, you likely need the additional dependencies like MonoMod.

I personally never tested using HarmonyX directly in Unity as it isn't its general use case (instead the use case is to embed HarmonyX with mod loaders, preferably using packages off NuGet). Nevertheless, you will need MonoMod libraries in addition to HarmonyX if you are referencing it manually and not from NuGet.

Marking this as resolved since we don't have any plans or need for packages aimed at Unity editor. If you need HarmonyX there, you can reference the assemblies manually. That said, we'll take a PR if someone does want to make a Unity-specific packaging for HarmonyX
