Somehow @Thom1729 figured this out here... although for some reason I cannot get ST3 to use my dummy syntax when embedding source.js even though it is clearly working with JS Custom.

Got this working finally with some voodoo nonsense by renaming the embedded syntax file in 52158ca. Now just need to fix the safe-mode's main context.

EDIT: Although, it would be great to make HTML look nicer in excelsior.
My local color scheme was outdated, forgot that I already coded transfer of JSX styles onto all XML-like scope names and it looks great.
