We have found similar issue. Here, when we use method create activity, it will return array comprising only html code which is 201 because activity got created successfully.
We have checked the Strava and Activity indeed got created in Strava. Here, the core issue is that we are not getting activity id in response which got created in Strava.
Need urgent help on this. Thanks.

This was addressed in #54 and has been fixed since release 1.3.1
