Support for testing Schema Registry locally about aws-glue-schema-registry HOT 11 CLOSED

1. Can you explain more about how will you enable the integration mode? Do you prefer passing a configuration option like testingMode = true and we return mocked responses?
2. Do you have a workaround to unblock yourself till we build this feature?

Sorry about the late update, we have added the GSR support in moto last year in this PR: getmoto/moto#5351
You should be able to use moto for testing GSR locally now.

is there any roadmap or rough timeline when this feature might be available?

We are actively looking for a workaround to mock the registry but don’t want to invest too much effort if there is a real solution on the way.

@blacktooth Do you know if is planned to bring GLUE registry in localstack? For our IT Tests we would prefer this solution.

@fabianf92 That's the idea. For now we have introduced a module called integration-tests that can be used with a provided Kafka docker image. Schema Registry, however, is still remote.

Any updates on this? we want to migrate from confluent to MSK and all of our unit tests break because of this. Any work around would be acceptable if it hasnt been implemented

Hello everyone, we are planning on supporting this feature by implementing GSR in moto. With this approach, you should be able to test schema registry locally, moto supports Java through service-mode or official Docker image. In addition to that, moto supports many AWS services and it is able to mock multiple AWS services at the same time.

Do you think this approach will meet your use-cases? Please let us know if you have any concern or any suggestion.

We are stuck here too, we are using aws msk and glue schema registry. In the dev environment for MSK, we are using Kafka but in the case of the glue schema registry, we are stuck.
Any update on when we are rolling out this feature?
