Hi @dangeReis. I'm sorry that you're experiencing difficulties. Unfortunately, I'm unable replicate your issue. I'm creating your minimal template in VSCode without any errors or warnings with

  • yaml plugin installed
  • AWS plugin installed
  • AWS plugin connected

Do you have AWS plugin installed and connected to your account?

Yes "AWS Toolkit - Amazon Q, CodeWhisperer, and more" v2.4.0
YAML v1.14.0

As soon as I install the YAML plugin it shows the error.

I'm guessing the schema is out of date, but how do I get it updated? I tried uninstalling and reinstall yaml and AWS Toolkit.

Just to double-check. Is your AWS plugin connected?
Can you see a message on your status bar that AWS is connected? If not, you must have some errors in your logs

It seems like it's not a Schema issue, since the issue cannot be reproduced in every environment. Maybe schema is not getting updated or there are some conflicts with other add-ons. You might ask in https://github.com/aws/aws-toolkit-vscode maybe they'll be able to help.

There is a known limitation that Limited support for [intrinsic functions](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSCloudFormation/latest/UserGuide/intrinsic-function-reference.html). Schema validation errors are expected when intrinsic functions are used. See #2645

I haven't dived deep into the issue but this could be a potential cause of schema validation error with !Ref intrinsics.
