I was able to deploy a BatchTransformJob from within a Spinnaker stage.
My pipeline contained a "Deploy (Manifest)" stage with some handwritten YAML specific to my batch transform job - taken from the samples in this repository.
Spinnaker, by default, believes all CRDs resolve status as a success immediately after the resource is configured. This could be dangerous for customers that want to wait for their job to complete before continuing in their pipeline. In order to add functionality to Spinnaker to read the primary status and reflect it accordingly in the pipeline the CRD kind must be added to the custom cloud driver (see their documentation custom CRD support).
Considering the simplicity of the operator statuses, this addition would be simple, but would best be incorporated into the official clouddriver repository (possibly under the AWS subdirectory).
