Tested in Safari using EDD Slack v0.9.8 and FES 2.4.2 and all kinds of Error Reporting enabled and I can't seem to reproduce this.
Are the same PHP errors from #41 showing anywhere for you? Because I've got a patch for that basically ready. I'm figuring they may be the true cause.

Have you had a chance to see if this is solved? I wasn't able to reproduce this particular bug exactly. I do know it solved #41.
