I've run it on a couple of systems now and haven't seen that type of behavior. What are the specs of your machine?

Hmm... very strange then! I'm at home at the moment and I observed this on my office computer. If i remember rightly it's a sandy bridge i7, 8GB RAM, so should be more than capable. The only thing of note is that the machine is running windows server 2008, but I've changed various settings to give prioritisation to the UI over background services, so i can't even imagine this could be an issue.

Is there a way i can get a screenshot to you to show what i mean? Shame it's not possible to attach files to issues on github!

I usually capture it using Jing, share via screencast.com, and post the link.

Yea, the Jing thing mightymuke does is really useful. Is that an option for you WickyNilliams?

Unlikely that policies at work will allow me to install software to record things. I'll have a think what i can do...

Wow, that sucks. It's so strange I've seen it work successfully on quite a few computers now. The best thing I can think of at the moment is adding an option to turn off animations. Do you think that would help?

Is this similar to what you're seeing? http://www.screencast.com/t/0xFBrkSw6r

I used to see these slow drawing issues on a low powered netbook I have. Since I removed the background gradient in c105179 and published those changes in 2.2.0 I haven't seen this issue. I'm going to close this out for now. Please re-open if anyone is still seeing the issue.
