I've pushed changes to https://github.com/sonatype/async-http-client/tree/conn-timeout-per-req

from async-http-client.

jfarcand avatar jfarcand commented on May 21, 2024

Target is 1.8.0

Just wondering: I don't see this yet in the 1.8.0-SNAPSHOT and I suppose that you will not change PerRequestConfig (which is deprecated) but introduce it into the request builder, right?

What is the timeline for 1.8 ?
Would like to have a per request timeout.

@vpnwr No timeline yet...contribution welcomed :-)

I see that the change is already checked in.

What kind of contributions are you looking for?
If these are build/release related tasks, or running unit tests etc. I can
help.

We need this feature and are willing to help get this version out.

@jfarcand Is there anything restraining from releasing 1.8?
@neotyk Do you think your changes could be ported back to 1.7.x?

from async-http-client.

rlubke avatar rlubke commented on May 21, 2024

I'd like more time before a 1.8 release as there are several new features/fixes that have been applied to the Netty provider but not to the Grizzly provider. I need to find some free time to port these changes over.

neotyk avatar neotyk commented on May 21, 2024

@slandelle not sure if we can port it to 1.7. This would change api, that was the reason for 1.8 target. But patch should apply cleanly to 1.7 as it was developed agains it.

@neotyk Has your work in https://github.com/AsyncHttpClient/async-http-client/tree/conn-timeout-per-req been merged into 1.8, or does it have to?

neotyk avatar neotyk commented on May 21, 2024

@slandelle It still needs to be merged

so if we'd like to get the "official" version built, the closes one is async-http-client-1.9.0-BETA1 (tagged on 07/10/2014)
