Sorry for not getting back to you on this sooner. I still haven't figured out how to get notified when a new issue is created in a project that's not under my personal profile.

I tried making assetgraph-sprite an optional dependency (in assetgraph-builder 0.3.35), but it still failed installing on Windows.

Then I tried making canvas an optional dependency in assetgraph-sprite (in 0.2.9), but both assetgraph-sprite and assetgraph-builder kept refusing to install.

I added an npm issue here: https://github.com/isaacs/npm/issues/2476

No problems and thank you for creating such a powerful tool. I'll keep an eye on the npm issue you raised.

Pleasure's mine. Let me know if you encounter any issues or if anything is too hard to figure out. The documentation effort is still lacking behind, and I don't even know where to start :)

Come to think of it, better keep this issue open until it's installable and working on Windows.

Well, as isaacs says on the npm issue, updating node (and thus npm) fixes the optionalDependencies problem so assetgraph-builder can be installed. However, it seems like there are some path resolution bugs that I'll have to sort out. Until then buildDevelopment and buildProduction seem to be quite unusable under Windows :/

I think I got buildDevelopment and buildProduction to work in 0.3.42 :). Could you please check when you have a moment?

Great, thanks mate! Will give it a whirl over the weekend.

@ospatil Have you had time to try it yet? I'd like to know if we need to put any more work into making this run on windows

I'm sorry mate, my day job hardly gave me any breathing space last month :). I upgraded node to latest release (v0.8.3) and AssetGraph got successfully installed and I can use buildDevelopment and buildProduction. I see warnings on failing to install optional dependencies, but that's the way it should be. Thanks for the fix.

Perfect. And once node-canvas is supported on windows you won't get those warnings any more.
