@toctan I'm not a spring user. But what I've been able to deduce from the README, spring is not creating a file in the root project like zeus does. Zeus creates .zeus.sock and that's how projectile-rails knows if it should run an external command with zeus prefix or not.
Although it seems that spring can create a binstubs in the ./bin directory with spring binstub rake rails. So if understand correctly you should be able to run commands through spring as long as the ./bin directory is in your PATH.

@asok Personally I do not add spring to my gem file, I just install it globally on my system, and you'er able to run commands within your rails project through spring and I think it's the recommended way, because bundle exec will slow spring dow.
