Implementation pointers
- Create and publish a simple Javascript package that renders classroom emails and manages interactivity. Ideally, the package would have few Javascript dependencies so that it can work even on old devices. jQuery and bootstrap can be assumed to be present on the page so writing the renderer as a jQuery plugin may be a pragmatic choice.
- Add the package to the opwen-webapp via the bower dependencies and ensure that it gets minified during the build.
- Hook up the classroom rendering to the email rendering code, e.g. by including and calling the classroom jQuery plugin in the Javascript that executes on the email display page.
- In the classroom rendering Javascript, track the student's answers and encode them via some sort of identifier. When the student is finished, hit a button and fire off a request to email_new that includes an action parameter (example trigger for reply-action).
- Implement the classroom action via a new action handler (example handler for reply-action). This will pre-populate an email with the student's answers that they then just have to send and that the Connect.Ed backend can parse. Note that the classroom action handler doesn't have to live in forms.py; it can be included in any module as long as the classroom action handler is a direct subclass of NewEmailForm and it is available at runtime (e.g. via importing the classroom action handler module in init.py).
