Cannot connect to network drives about spindle HOT 7 OPEN

I expect adding gvfs will resolve this, see http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?p=97604#p97604 for my suggestion. If someone can verify that would be great.

Can you mount the smb share with the gvfs-mount command line tool?

My suggested apt-get install may have left out some important gvfs components actually. Please try to install gvfs-daemons and the gvfs meta-package also.

installed the -daemons, what is the exact name of the meta-package to install. You're takling to a Linux toddler, but learning to walk fast!

It is just 'gvfs' and I am wrong to call it a metapackage. Looking at the file list http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/armel/gvfs/filelist it's clear it provides libgvfsdbus.so which we might imagine is needed. Fingers crossed that does the trick.

gvfs is now installed but still no success, except that the error message on selecting go>network drives has changed to 'The specified location is not supported'
Someone on the RPi forum has got it working by installing Samba.
