The key that the plug-in found was not the right one for this book. Was it downloaded to a different PC? Try downloading a fresh copy of the book to the installation of Kindle for PC which is on the same PC as Calibre.

I am having this exact same issue. Something broke in 6.3.x. I tested both 6.3.2 and 6.3.1 and both threw errors. I was able to download 6.2.2 and it decrypted perfectly

Unable to reproduce the problem here. I tried with 2 books, one .mobi and one .azw3. I notice that they are referred to in the error log as MOBI header version 4 and 8 respectively. Whereas the one in adambot's logs is Mobi 6. Here's my successful log:

I was doing this on a clean install -- if i upgraded a previous install it worked fine (tested on a different computer)

Ahh, yes, something's going wrong when it has to look for a new Kindle key. Mine just used a key it had from before the upgrade.

It sounds like something is being done differently for new installs of the latest Kindle for PC. I'll see if I can reproduce it.

It was a bug in the plugin. Now fixed in 6.3.3
