I like this idea.

I need to think it through some though. Pinterest could work, but I'd rather something more specialized to Selfstarter projects (or projects like Selfstarter), and, more broadly, a site that explicitly establishes a culture for Selfstarter projects.

In general though, open crowdfunding is not our (Lockitron's) business. We want to start this conversation, but we're extremley busy as-is.

I'm willing to sponsor someone (or a team) to do this work if it includes strong elements of transparency and openness. See My foundation's mission. I think that a network of funding sites is inherently more secure and valuable to the public than a bunch of separate ones, and allows both flexibility for individual sites and new capabilities over time (e.g. JOBS Act).
