It is. Actually, you can load everything from the result file even without a database provided the geometry is written to it (which is enabled by default).
At this point, it's just a matter of accessing the right element index tables. Can you provide me with a result file, the requested lookup, and a sample output from ANSYS? Similar to how this question was asked:
#17
from pymapdl.
Actually I did not want to use *GET with results, but instead with the number of nodes in a region to calculate the Force per node.
I wanted to do it somehow like this:
ansys.Nsel("S", "LOC", ...
ansys.Get("nNodes", "node","","count")
nNodes = ...
ansys.F("ALL", "FX", ForceTot/nNodes)
I have solved this with the following:
ansys.Nsel("S", "LOC", ...
ansys.Get("nNodes", "node","","count")
ansys.RunCommand("ForceTot="+str(ForceTot))
ansys.F("ALL", "FX", "ForceTot/nNodes")
from pymapdl.
If you wanted a pure python implementation, you might be better off using a nearest neighbor search to get the indices of the local nodes and then querying based on those nodes:
https://docs.scipy.org/doc/scipy-0.14.0/reference/generated/scipy.spatial.KDTree.query.html
Still, itβs cool that you just used the ANSYS class. Did you get that working on Linux or Windows?

Thanks for the other implementation.
I am in Linux.
