Sorry, I was fast jumping to conclusions.
This is the project in question: link. I can't pinpoint what exactly causes the issue.

The project builds in 2.6.1-beta, but not in 2.7.x.

@solrudev Thanks for the report. I can confirm that this issue is reproducible when using version catalogs. So far, I've tested with AGP v8.1.0 and v8.2.x and the issue occurs for both versions of AGP.

The actual reason for this issue is that the AGP classes are not available in the classpath of LogSenderPlugin when the com.android.application plugin is applied directly to the :app module in the project. As a workaround, you can add AGP to the classpath by adding the following in the root project's build.gradle[.kts] script :

plugins {
    id("com.android.application") version "<version>" apply false
    id("com.android.library") version "<version>" apply false
}

I'll look into the issue and try to fix it ASAP.
