Thanks Andrew, much appreciated.

Have you used these in prod scenarios?

I'm thinking these are great but if one doesn't keep their scale high
enough to handle peak load these HCs might take down nodes in lieu of just
overwhelming them. I guess either way it's nice to start getting the
warnings to do something about it.

I have not used them in prod but just wanted to show how to get a simple setup working :)

Fantastic either way, I'll be incorporating these into a course I'm
creating for Pluralsight.

I made a few modifications I can share if you'd like

  • Using MemAvailable from /proc/meminfo
  • and the 'id' cpu output from top, I think this might be "new" so might
    not be as backward compat

Thanks for the inspiration here, cool idea to rotate a node out of the pool
if we accidentally overwhelm it, and obviously it should quickly recover.
