Cannot run toplev.py about pmu-tools HOT 4 CLOSED

Most likely perf outputted something toplev cannot parse

Can you run it with

pythom -mpdb toplev ...

and when the fault occurs type print res and print index and show the
output.

Also please copy the perf command line toplev shows at the beginning
and execute it directly in a shell and show the output.

Yeah, I think I found out what caused that, it's because of my server's kernel version is too old (ubuntu 12.04 kernel 3.5). I think I saw a warning somewhere that this is not very well supported if kernel < 3.10. Is that correct?

I fixed it now with commit 25e279c
However I would recommend to update anyways, especially for the interval option which is very useful.
Also that old kernel may not correctly schedule all events needed by toplev
