I'd expect that is because the ManualSurfaceJointInstance class is a structural class. ManualGlue and ManuelWeld both inherit from it, and I do not think it is meant to be used alone. Perhaps it is meant to be a structural class but not indicated as such by the engine, thus meaning it can be created by code, in which case the engine will not know what to do?
