I would love to see this.
However is it possible? Emulate x86 with dosbox on arm? I won't say it is impossible, but probably harder than just compile the code.

Maybe the starting point would be QEMU or box86 which people have gotten to run on the Raspberry Pi:

Next, would be getting access to an M1 based Mac, physically or remote.
On the other hand given no source updates in 4 years, I am not too confident.
Edit: opened an equivalent issue on what appears to be the most active fork

Perhaps, though has this crew been paying attention to the challenges
which the DOSBOX/DOSBOX-X people have run into?
