You can technically remove most repeating fields by blanking them in that scenario, but having the proper control for removal would be ideal. I have more than one client bug report filed about that particular issue and was planning to address at some point.

Heh, I was just going to report this as a bug :) Adding a label solved my problem.
Similarly, when I already have one repeatable group filled out, I'd prefer the default behavior to be just to show the button. So, instead of this:

If a 'label' is not set on a Fieldmanager_* object with 'limit' => 0, and 'sortable' => true, the repeating elements are not sortable
I just ran into this. Could we put the sortable UI element to the left of the item?

This is one that I think it would be very useful to solve, so I'd be very happy to see a patch for it. Your solution sounds like what I was envisioning for it.
