It's very far from the recommended minimum, a GTX 1070, so it would be extremely slow if it runs at all.

Depends on what you're going to use it for. Personally I would probably get an RTX4070 if I bought a new GPU today, but I'm doing other AI stuff and gaming as well. If you only want to be able to run avatarify-desktop the recommended minimum is GTX1070, which is quite old by now and probably not a good investment. If you want something budget friendly I would look for a RTX3060.
Though the MX130 which you originally asked about appears to be a laptop gpu.. Do you have a stationary computer which can fit a graphics card?
Either way, don't assume avatarify will just work if you buy a new computer and/or graphics card. The program is not actively maintained, and has not been for quite some time so there are no guarantees. You have been given access to the source code, and you can do whatever you want with it. Just don't expect someone to give you support or fix any problems you run into.
