Hmm. Shoot.

I'll need to wait for it to happen again.

from airbrake.

kyrylo avatar kyrylo commented on June 12, 2024 1

@yangsu-ab not resolved yet. The issue to track is this one airbrake/airbrake-ruby#696
However, it's not related to our Ruby notifier.

phumpal avatar phumpal commented on June 12, 2024

the performance stuff was choking for some reason.

@apanzerj do you mind updating the airbrake gem to 13.0.1. This may be related to #1223

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

Sweet! On it.

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

That seems to have worked. Thanks!

from airbrake.

phumpal avatar phumpal commented on June 12, 2024

@apanzerj awesome! Thanks for the fix @kyrylo :)

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

Spoke too soon. Still happening

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

@phumpal It seems to take a few minutes but it eventually shows up again

from airbrake.

phumpal avatar phumpal commented on June 12, 2024

Just to confirm - gem list airbrake ?

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

So the error seems to stop when nobody uses the app but as soon as I start doing stuff it comes back.

from airbrake.

phumpal avatar phumpal commented on June 12, 2024

Hmm, if you're using the Rails 7+ w/airbrake=13.0.1 that should be the fix. However looking at backend logs I still see the malformed time for that project. Did all the "server(s)" update or is there a cache somewhere?

FWIW @kyrylo mentioned he'd take a look when he's back online tomorrow morning.

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

I mean, our production instances didn't update but I see this happening in our staging servers which did update.

Edit:

I'll update production now

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

Updated production

from airbrake.

kyrylo avatar kyrylo commented on June 12, 2024

@apanzerj I just released v13.0.2 with the fix. Please update airbrake in your app. Thanks for reporting!

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

on it! Thanks for the awesome turnaround!

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

@kyrylo looks like that fixed it. Thanks again!

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

Crap. It's back.

Edit: one sec, lemme double check

Edit 2: Logs were including production which I hadn't patched yet. Gimme 10 more minutes!

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

Okay. Nevermind. It's all good. Sorry!

@kyrylo I'm sorry to bug ya but it happened again today. It's definitely happening with drastically less frequency.

What's in log/airbrake.log?

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

@kyrylo The issue is back. It's been creeping back for a while. Airbrake log just has:

The gem is at the newest version.

from airbrake.

kyrylo avatar kyrylo commented on June 12, 2024

I don't think this is related to the gem itself. It must be something with our infra. We're investigating.

from airbrake.

kyrylo avatar kyrylo commented on June 12, 2024

Do you still see this error? How regular is it? Is there a pattern?

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

So this is all the information I have:

I can get more details in a bit.

from airbrake.

apanzerj avatar apanzerj commented on June 12, 2024

Hmm. In our staging environment it seems to have stopped but it's still happening in production. It also appears to only happen in our Sidekiq worker instances but I can't be 100 percent sure on that.

@kyrylo , is this ticket resolved? we are also seeing lots of (intermittently?) 500 response from airbrake sdk.

starting aug 7th.
we are on airbrake 9.3 unfortunately. we then since tried to update to 11.03 which was the latest version of airbrake that supports ruby 2.4. which did not work either. is there going to be a patch for v 11? since we can't easily move away from ruby 2.4
