@sphuber Same question as #62: does this still apply to the new process state system? The exponential backoff has been implemented in aiida-core, but do we still need changes to the plugin?

This issue actually does not make any sense. I think I meant SUBMISSIONFAILED, because PARSINGFAILED happens if all transport tasks finished successfully, but the parser decided to return False for the successfulness of the parsing. However, for SUBMISSIONFAILED the same story goes as I put in #62 and most likely it is no longer applicable. Closing in favor of #220
