AttributeError: module 'eventlet.green.select' has no attribute 'epoll' about powerhub HOT 4 CLOSED

I completed everything in the installation including building everything with make build and installing all the pip requirements but the issue still persists.

Thanks for reporting. It appears to be a bug of eventlet: eventlet/eventlet#805

According to the thread, you should be able to use a workaround like this:

$ EVENTLET_NO_GREENDNS=yes powerhub ...

You can also downgrade to dnspython==2.3.0 for the time being:

$ pip install "dnspython==2.3.0"

Now that I look at it, it appears that eventlet is poorly maintained. We will switch to gevent, but that seems non-trivial.

So for anybody experiencing this issue, please the workaround above.

As it turns out, we don't even need eventlet. socketio was importing it even if it is not needed to leverage a message queue, but that was fixed here. Since we don't use a message queue, I'll just require socketio>=5.8 and remove the eventlet dependency.
