Same problem, it seems be a major bug.

This is not a bug, it's a feature. It was designed that way :)

I understand that it's different than how Rails typically handles instance variables, but in the context of Arbre it''s scary to inject instance variables into objects. I don't feel good about clobbering instance variables across all the objects in the DOM tree, so I've made them methods instead.

There are two ways to access them:

  1. As a method. So @user.name becomes user.name
  2. From the assigns hash: assigns[:user].name

The assigns hash holds reference to all the assignments that were passed to the view from the controller.
