I don't have a ton of Blender experience personally. It looks like this is a somewhat common issue with Blender, for example: nytimes/rd-blender-docker#6

There are a couple of solutions suggested on that ticket, do any of those help?

Regarding the DISPLAY=:0 workaround -- job layers can specify environment settings in the job description. This will probably be cleaner than editing the Blender command directly.

In pyoutline's Layer class:

Yes, it is a common problem when trying to render OpenGL elements (partial GPU) or full GPU renders. I'll give your suggestion a try though - it looks like this would be the right way to set the environment. Thanks!
