Another thing id like to add to this is that the old 5zig mod, once logged in, could change and manage the cape at the 5zig panel, which would be a great addition to the website.

After more experimentation, i realize there is actually a message that says i cant upload anything larger than a MB, which means that my cape should in fact upload but gets cut by the server

Yes, you are correct. There's a discrepancy between the server file limit and what's displayed by the client.
