Hello, I was thinking of trying to design something very much like this when I found your project. It looks almost exactly like what I need (long term I'd like to add a USB/SD chip directly on it).
Based on it being on github, and you having designed it for testing FreeBSD, I am assuming I'm allowed to use and extend this (with attribution, of course), but I wouldn't mind confirmation :)

As indicated in the documentation, the SN74CBT3257 is not able to handle card with higher speed capabilities, for this reason I modified it in order to use the SN74CB3Q3257 that is a high-bandwidth bus switch. I ordered PCBs with the modification and it works like a charm (I didn't test extensively but a card that didn't work for the old board works with this one).

Are you interested in the modification? Could be interesting to extend the functionality of the board to support also USB stick or similar.
