Why not use "ide" for that? With a little bit of fiddling you could even do that with the "project" plug-in http://vim.sourceforge.net/scripts/script.php?script_id=69 (see :help project-syntax, the "in" and "out" options).
The problem with this request is that our plug-in does not have the infrastructure to do that, so you would need to implement a whole project manager, which I honestly do not want to do because I'm quite happy with "project".
"ide", on the other hand, does not seem to do anything which conflicts with our plug-in, so you could use both in parallel.
