There is one thing I can't read from this issue, Have you seen any hits on the record in question? and if = TRUE, where.

The reason I'm asking is if it is solely some inhouse, backend, obfuscated or proxied, it wont make much sense to add the bits to any lists 😒

About why it should be added, well we couldn't agree more from there own description 👍

Is there any tool I could use to, say, check if a domain is on any popular filter/hosts list?

I know @funilrys kind a have one within his https://github.com/Ultimate-Hosts-Blacklist/Ultimate.Hosts.Blacklist project as they are working with a lot of sub lists from external sources, however i can't remember the url to the "search" function.

The the real question might be, is there a search tool, to search good qualified blacklists, as I can come up with a lot of popular, but absolutely not among what i would consider near even good sources.

PS: found the url with a little searching https://hosts.ubuntu101.co.za/app/contents

I happen to have noticed Steven Black likes using StevenBlack/ghosts for StevenBlack/hosts, but it's a comparison tool, not a search tool.

Hi @CyanoTex

Yes @ghost is some sort of a comparison script, while https://hosts.ubuntu101.co.za/app/contents is based solely on very lists currently being availability tested by the @Ultimate-Hosts-Blacklist project by @mitchellkrogza and @funilrys

I happens to notice your contributions on @disconnectme too, and in relation to your previously question, I can announce that there are being worked on something of what you are requesting here https://www.mypdns.org/project/view/15/ The most basic is we are going to merge a global SQL db whit all (sub)-domains known for doing bad stuff with the availability test of @PyFunceble, this will be divided into sub headlines as

  • User uploaded records (hosts files)
  • Extraction of active domains by category
  • User driven categorizing /classification https://www.mypdns.org/T2686
  • Thin Client driven (Locked Issues)
  • Central maybe decentralizing the DB's

So if you have idea in a brainstorm for what you would like such a system should be able to give you for be usable, you are ab most welcome to throw in an idea, even in brainstorm format. and tag it with Matrix

Until the release of funilrys/pyfunceble version 4.0.0 there are plenty of room for even the wildest suggestions
