My cellphone : +55 (31) 91XX.XXXX is now +55 (31) 9 91XX.XXXX and all the landline phones still +55 (31) 4XXX.XXXX
In my last project i had to use 2 fieds, one for landing phone number, not validating data, then can insert even the mobile or landing phone, and the other field i formatted the data requiring the 9 digits phone. It's complicated because its not for all mobile phone numbers of the country !

Ok, no problems about that, my phone number is already public, if someone calls me to make a joke, i will also make a joke with him. LOL. I think maybe one of the solutions is to make something like you have done to the country, when you insert +55 happens "BR" detection, but only SOME oF states and cities are now using 9 digits, so, it could allow one more digit when i insert the 2 digits of the city (31), and the other cities that are now using 9 digits. I could find you a list of cities. I temporally solved my problem here, using 2 fields (one for landing and one for mobile), but my code is buggy,because it format the numbers into 9 digits, and accepts posting if user has inserted only 8 digits .. its hosted on cadastrinho.site50.net .. Anyway, i worry about the development thing, and i see no changes, not any official solution about this,. DOnt you think the "ANATEL" should at least make ALL PHONE numbers (landing and mobile) with 9 digits, and make that a standard, even for small cities ?
