About Statamic

Statamic is the flat-first, Laravel + Git powered CMS designed for building beautiful, easy to manage websites.

Note

This repository contains the code for a fresh Statamic project that is installed via the Statamic CLI tool.

The code for the Statamic Composer package itself can be found at the Statamic core package repository.

Learning Statamic

Statamic has extensive documentation. We dedicate a significant amount of time and energy every day to improving them, so if something is unclear, feel free to open issues for anything you find confusing or incomplete. We are happy to consider anything you feel will make the docs and CMS better.

Support

We provide official developer support on Statamic Pro projects. Community-driven support is available on the forum and in Discord.

French host

OVH (https://www.ovh.com/fr/index.xml) is a nice web host with 3 main data centers in northeastern France and one near Montreal (Quebec, Canada).

Even on its low cost shared plans you can choose between PHP 5.4 with FPM ("on" by default) and PHP 5.5. You can also run with PHP 5.3 (though I don't know the exact version yet)

Statamic's check.php is "all green" (except for mod rewrite, but the shared plans clearly have mod rewrite enabled)

Please add 1and1.com to the list of problematic host

1and1.com

Statamic works with the following modification

  • you have to turn on mod_rewrite manually, using .htaccess
  • you have to set the timezone using a php.ini on your root directory

Note:

  • 1and1.com does not support mod_deflate nor gzip on their basic package. There are some workaround but it's a hit and miss

Fortrabbit

Statamic just works fine on Fortrabbit.
I have several projects in progress, and the environment is perfect 👌
