This is actually a bit tricky to add. I could do it with a whole bunch of if dry_run: else:
statements, which is a bit ugly. I thought about wrapping the client returned by my make_client() function, but then I still need to mock return values from the client when it's running in dry run mode so that existing code doesn't break.

I'm going to use dry_run
to set the various client objects to None
so that it's impossible to accidentally trigger an API call while running in --dry-run
mode, then I'll implement this feature with the ugly if
statements.
from s3-credentials.
Example output:
% s3-credentials create my-bucket --dry-run --read-only --duration 20m
Would create bucket: 'my-bucket'
Would ensure role: 's3-credentials.AmazonS3FullAccess'
Would assume role using following policy for 1200 seconds:
{
"Version": "2012-10-17",
"Statement": [
{
"Effect": "Allow",
"Action": [
"s3:ListBucket",
"s3:GetBucketLocation"
],
"Resource": [
"arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket"
]
},
{
"Effect": "Allow",
"Action": [
"s3:GetObject",
"s3:GetObjectAcl",
"s3:GetObjectLegalHold",
"s3:GetObjectRetention",
"s3:GetObjectTagging"
],
"Resource": [
"arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket/*"
]
}
]
}
% s3-credentials create my-bucket --dry-run
Would create bucket: 'my-bucket'
Would create user: 's3.read-write.my-bucket' with permissions boundary: 'arn:aws:iam::aws:policy/AmazonS3FullAccess'
Would attach policy called 's3.read-write.my-bucket' to user 's3.read-write.my-bucket', details:
{
"Version": "2012-10-17",
"Statement": [
{
"Effect": "Allow",
"Action": [
"s3:ListBucket",
"s3:GetBucketLocation"
],
"Resource": [
"arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket"
]
},
{
"Effect": "Allow",
"Action": [
"s3:GetObject",
"s3:GetObjectAcl",
"s3:GetObjectLegalHold",
"s3:GetObjectRetention",
"s3:GetObjectTagging"
],
"Resource": [
"arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket/*"
]
},
{
"Effect": "Allow",
"Action": [
"s3:PutObject",
"s3:DeleteObject"
],
"Resource": [
"arn:aws:s3:::my-bucket/*"
]
}
]
}
Would call create access key for user 's3.read-write.my-bucket'
