QIDISlicer

QIDISlicer is a professional 3D printer slicing software，which is perfectly compatible with all printers and 3D printing filaments of QIDI Technology. Multi-platform support, simple inerface, easy to use, complate functions, easy to learn 3D printing.

QIDISlicer is based on PrusaSlicer by Prusa Research, which is from Slic3r by Alessandro Ranellucci and the RepRap community. Thanks to PrusaSlicer, Bambulab and OrcaSlicer for their contributions to the 3D printing community.

The supporting QIDI Link App supports IOS and Android platforms. In the app, you can scan the code to connect to the printer, remotely monitor the printer's printing progress, control the printer's printing parameters, and perform operations such as feeding and returning materials.

Thumbnail preview generation doesnt work and other information missing

QidiSlicer cant generate thumbnails correctly for Fluidd/Mainsail.

My current setting beeing:

Which looks like this:

I tested PrusaSlicer 2.7.1 with these setting:

You can see that the thumbnail is now visible plus other information like print time, material etc.

Bug between "Perimeter Generator Arachne" and "Only one wall on top surfaces"

Example:
If I set 4 external perimeters with "Only one wall on top surfaces = all top" and "Perimeter Generator = Arachne" all works fine and in the slice mode you can see all the 4 perimeters and all the top surfaces with 1 perimeter, if I switch on "Perimeter Generator = Classic" all the model has only 1 perimeter and not only the Top.
Then if I keep "Perimeter Generator = Classic" and switch "Only one wall on top surfaces = Only Top Most" the model has again 4 perimeters and only the top most surface has 1 perimeter only.

Apple silicon dmg installation file

Please add another release binary to support Apple ARM!
No problem to build it on Macbook (though you didn't publish required instructions from PrusaSlicer - https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/blob/master/doc/How%20to%20build%20-%20Mac%20OS.md),
but it's sort of time consuming.

Label object doesn't work correctly

Label object always only produces a single object in GCODE output. The GCODE file only includes the line EXCLUDE_OBJECT_DEFINE NAME=stl_id_0_copy_0 Which creates an object around all the objects, instead of multiple objects. Which results in fluidd only seeing one object instead of multiple

Please allow other ports then 10088

By default QidiSlicer sets the port to 10088.

If the 3D printer is on a different port, then it can connect to that printer.

Please allow to set a different port, so we can also use other printers with your slicer :)

Power off on idle

Hi is it possible for option to turn off printer after 10-20 mins idle? Its kind of annoying that only power button is on back to.

pressure advance not resetting after print

At some point this was added to filament start g-code:

Previously this if statement was not there. I have sliced files prior to pressure advance being written to start gcode. I have checked my old gcode files and there is no M900 call.

Now when I run a new file the pressure advance is set - but when I run an old file after it, the pressure advance values do not reset. Now when I print old gcode files in PLA the quality is ruined because it uses the pressure advance settings from the last job. In my opinion after a job is complete it should reset pressure advance or disable it so the next file can set it or not set it if it is an old file.

Please add a "shrinkage" value for the filament types

In SuperSlicer and OrcaSlicer you have a shrinkage option in the filament section.

This is important if you want accurate objects from materials that shrinks while cooling (like ABS/ASA, etc)
It would be nice to have this feature availible in QIDISlicer as well.

Can't drag and drop stl or other fiels into the slicer

Hello,

I own a compagny in France with 28 FDM printers and use SuperSlicer, and now OrcaSlicer.

last week I brought 2 Qidi Tech X-Max 3, I love this printer a lot !!!
And because i'm lazy, I installed your slicer to obtain all printer profiles for Qidi, I see it's a fork of PrusaSlicer, it work great and I love the printer control interface.

But there was one annoying thing in your slicer : It's simply impossible to drag and drop any 3d files to import it in QidiSlicer, normally in all PrusaSlicer you can drag and drop an stl file into the software to make model import ultra easy. Why it's impossible in your slicer ? When I try, the mouse show a forbidden sign. It's a bug or it made on purpose ?

QIDISlicer_1.1.2 AppImage fails to open on Arch Linux

get this error: ./QIDISlicer_1.1.2_Linux_5fbe3031dd02701756bdef392e403007.AppImage /tmp/.mount_QIDISlRj7lA8/usr/bin/bin/qidi-slicer: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.66: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I've confirmed icu and lib32-icu are installed.

Can't send gcode on 1.0.8

Summary: since updating to 1.0.8 I can no longer send gcode directly to my printer over the network.

Expected behaviour (<1.0.8):

Slice model
Two buttons appear in the bottom right hand corner: "Export G-code" and "Export G-code and send to printer"
The second button exports and transfers the file over the network, and the print begins immediately.
Under the "Device" tab I can view the fluidd interface for my printer. Once initiated this remains live even if I click away and come back.

Current behaviour (1.0.8):

Slice model
Only one button appears in the bottom right hand corner: "Export G-code".
Every time I navigate to the "Device" tab I have to reselect my printer to view the fluidd interface. It appears that the connection is lost/reset as soon as I click away.

My setup:

Qidi X-Plus3 with firmware v4.2.10
Qidi slicer 1.0.8
Windows 11

device management list needs a lot of space

The new device management list / machine list needs a lot of space on screen. For users with only one (Qidi) printer it's useless.
Please make this as an option.

add "old" qidi printers

it is possible to have all your printer for example x-max in qidi-slicer?

Navigating to "device" causes: "Unhandled unknown exception; terminating the application."

On QidiSlicer-1.0.8 for Windows the following occurs.

When navigating QIDISlicer-1.0.8 in order to add a device this statement appears and will close the program:

"Unhandled unknown exception; terminating the application."

The current way I am working around it is by ignoring the window by clicking back onto the application, and continuing to add a machine to the list regardless. After a restart of the program all added devices are lost.

Printer used:
Qidi X-Plus 3
Firmware: 4.2.10

This is regardless of re-installation of the slicer application.

Additionally after several attempts this feature no longer works regardless of (re)installation.

Device list always empty v1.1.0

I'm using the Linux appimage

My printer is setup and configured, but it does not appears in the Device tab.

Adding it manually in the Device tab, I can see the interface, but it is not saved and clicking another tab will loose it

The device is not present in the machine list

Clicking away and then on Device again brings me again to this screen

Drag stl to platter from desktop, explorer, etc does not work

When dragging stl file to platter, it does not allow it. Importing works though. circle with slash is displayed. Worked on previous version.

machine list不能添加非IP設備

當我使用mkspi或者mkspi.lan連接設備時，雖然能通過連接測試並顯示網頁，但是machine list中並沒有任何設備顯示。我使用的是動態IP，設備地址就要經常變更了。在1.07沒有machine list時一切是正常的。

max flow calibration

Good day, i saw in slicer files there is max flow stl file included, but not in calibration options.
As other manufacturer is has this max flow calibration test, maybe you could consider including it also?

Change Filament Not Working X-Plus-3

When using the insert change filament into gcode based on these instructions:

it seems to get ignored by the printer and it doesn't pause allowing for filament change.

QIDI Slicer 1.1.1 Max Volumetric Speed calibration

This test really needs to be run in vase mode. Having it stop on one layer and then start the next layer in a random place is broken and leaves a lot of questions about where the MVS maxes out.

New release 1.2 appimage doesn't work on Manjaro Linux 23.1.3

Just the title really. I was excited to see this release as it said it had some fixes for Linux. I've been using 1.0 since 1.1 would frequently crash and was hopeful that this new release wouldn't have that issue. It doesn't launch at all for me though. Please let me know if there's any commands or debugging info I can share to assist. Thanks!

No thumbnail with Qidislicer V1.1 on QIDI X-Smart

Hello, since the update to V1.1 I can no longer see a thumbnail displayed on my Qidi-X-Smart 3. Can you help me with that?

QIDI ASA profile chamber heat problem!

With the default Qidi ASA profile and the chamber heating set to 55 degrees, once the print is started, the chamber heating does not activate automatically."

Filament profile selection

I expected to be able to select for printing one of the filaments 'ticked' in the 'add filament' tab. Maybe I'm missing something, but when I change filament types it seems I have to manually adjust all the parameters, surely the QIDI filaments are available as presets? If so how are they selected?

I'm posting here as I have failed to find any detailed manuals or instructions on how to use QidiSlicer 1.0.8

RFE: Support for i-Fast printer

I have both an i-Fast and X-Smart 3. This software looks great, but it's less than ideal to use two slicers.

Please add support for older model printers, they weren't cheap and are great machines.

Different thumbnail formats used by Qidi printer but not able to set up in QIDISlicer

Unfortunately the Qidi printers uses the PNG thumbnail format in the fluidd web UI and a custom "QIDI" format (simage and gimage lines in gcode) on the printer screen.
In the current prusaslicer you could add e.g. "300x300/PNG, 300x300/JPG" in the printer settings "G-code thumbnails" to have 2 thumbnail formats in the gcode.
That's not possible in the QIDISlicer.
Please add this option to the QIDISlicer.
(or even better change the format at the printer screen in future firmware updates)

Job Upload Date and Time Incorrect in QIDI Slicer

I have had this problem with all versions of QIDI Slicer. In the Jobs Section under Modified the date is show as Oct 07 2023 and not Dec 31 2023.
I contacted support and was given a terminal to correct the issue. It did but after turning my machine off and the rebooting the problem reappeared.
The time zone on my pc is correct and the date and time format is correct in settings.

Chamber temperature is not being set in the default printer G-code

The M141 macro is what instructs the printer to set the chamber temperature, and at present, it always sets it to 0
It seems to me that since the X-Plus3 and X-Max3 both have chamber heaters, then the chamber temperature as defined in the filament configuration should be respected.

This can be accomplished by changing the line starting with M141 to the following

M141 S[chamber_temperature] ;set chamber temp

and that now instructs the printer to respect the chamber temperature settings in the filament specification

QIDISlicer 1.1.1 pressure advance calibration issue

When doing the pressure advance calibration, on both the lines and pattern option, the column of numbers is printer first and they are about 4mm tall. Then the tool head comes back to print the lines or pattern depending on which one you picked and the tool head runs into the numbers. In my case, the column of numbers stuck well enough for the tool head to move the build plate over on the platform. Please fix this. The number column could be 1mm tall from the surface or shorter and still be readable.

The printer wont start if the name of the file contains "é" characters

In QIDISlicer, if the name of the body contains a "é", very commun in french language, the printer wont start, the sending to the printer with wifi seems to works, but then nothing happens, no start print

Chamber temp shutting down for the first minutes of the print

Printing ABS, if I set chamber temp 55° C, chamber fan speed for exemple 40/60%, warm up the chamber to 55° then start the print, when it starts the chamber heater shuts down and I have to set it manually. After i think the first layer it will start again automatically, but it has lost 15° of chamber temp (the outside temperature is around 10/14°)

V 1.1.0 geschweifte und eckige Klammer im Kommentar führt zum Fehler

Es kommt oft vor, das ich Befehlzeilen auskommentieren möchte. Um bei Bedarf wieder zu aktivieren. Es gibt sehr viele Zeilen mit „[]“ eckigen und „{}“ geschweiften Klammern!
Diese führen dann, beim slicen, zu Fehlern und Abbruch.
Z.B.: M104 S{300-(9 * int((layer_z - 3) / 6))} funktioniert!
Die Beschreibung hierfür:
;M104 S{Starttemp–(Tempschritte*int((layer_z–HoeheBasis)/HoeheBereich))}
führt zur Fehlermeldung!
Benutzt habe ich diese im benutzerdefinierten Layerwechsel zum erstellen eines Temptower.

Profiles for Qidi Printers

Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer already have a profile for the Qidi XCF-Pro. I believe that there is no one more prepared to create other Qidi printer profiles within Qidi Slicer than Qidi itself. Obviously including i-fast.

Printer Upload not possible, if system proxy set

Config:

QIDIslicer on IP 192.168.1.5 (Win64, V1,0.7 and V1.1.1)
X-Smart3 on IP 192.168.1.248

Environment Vars:
HTTPS_PROXY=http://proxy.localnet:3128/
HTTP_PROXY=http://proxy.localnet:3128/
NO_PROXY=localhost,127.0.0.1,192.168.1.0/24,192.168.2.0/24

Windows Settings (no proxy for local addresses as above)
proxy.localnet resolves to 192.168.3.2, can't reach 192.168.1.x normally.

Situation:

Sending data to printer over LAN will fail, as proxy is used regardless of no_proxy settings.
If I change firewall rules, so the then proxy can reach 192.168.1.248:10088 printer "Test" will work and finds printer.
If I upload data to printer data will be send to proxy-ip instead of to printer via proxy and fails (http error 503)

Qidislicer 1.1.0 on Linux

When you add several files to the build plate and you use auto arrange then slice, The slicer complains that the models are too close and the tool head might hit other models while printing. It used to not do this in 1.0.8. With this bug, you can only put about half the number of models on the build plate at once because you now have to space them out further. I print all models at once and not one at a time, so no models should be high enough for the tool head to run into.

Infill bridging over supports.

Hi in new version of your slicer could you give us more options to control infill bridging over supports.
This is the only area I cannot get a clean surface, right where the print built off a support!
The bridge flow ratio doesn't do enough even at max 2, I get spaces between the print lines.
I'm on the Max3!

High CPU usage during idle

QIDISlicer idling pegs a single CPU thread after doing the following:

open QIDISlicer (no need to open any project), cpu usage is 0
click on the Device tab
click on any other tab and CPU usage goes high and stays there.

Weird thing is if you click on the Device tab again, CPU usage goes down to 0, until you click on any other tab again. If you never click on the Device tab, the issue never occurs.

0.6mm 0.8mm nozzles support

Hi! This is enhancement request to support 0.6 and 0.8 mm nozzles with corresponding profiles (just like you made it for 0.2mm).
Just received your nozzles and willing to use them with X-Max 3 but don't have much time to fiddle with required configuration adjustment.

Max Volumetric Speed calibration QIDI Slicer 1.1.1

This issue is not fixed and this issue should not be closed until it is fixed. Printing this this calibration layer by layer that has start and stop points in each layer is flawed. You never really test the volumetric speed when you are constantly stopping and starting again. This test should be done in vase mode even if it is hard to change the speed as you state. Also, when you do it layer by layer with start and stop points, there are little blobs at these points that do not show up on normal prints. Those make it hard to make a determination of what the max volumetric speed should be.
