The rasterVis::gplot
function is a simple wrapper of ggplot2::ggplot
. It only samples and converts the Raster*
object to a data.frame
that ggplot2::ggplot
is able to work with. Thus, I suspect that the problem described in this issue is due to ggplot2::ggplot
. I am not a regular user of it, so I cannot provide you with additional insight. However, I can try to work with your Raster
object it you post a link to your data.
On the other hand, have you tried to display your Raster
with rasterVis::levelplot
?

For now, I just took the the time to build the higher resolution rasters and make it work. I'll opon up an inquiry on the ggplot2
side of things to see what they have to say.
