Thanks for the report. I'm not sure actually. I remember some discussion on this but can't recall the outcome. Checking internally.

From discussion internally:

There is check for dimensions and size, but only for ImageFrames. In this case the example is sending raw buffer (without any image data) to the NN. (since NN doesn't always take images).
We should change the examples to send image frame to NN from host, like here: https://github.com/luxonis/depthai-experiments/blob/master/gen2-camera-demo/main.py#L281

Regardless, even if raw bitstream is sent we can add a simple size check. (we can't check dimenstions, since they are not specified).
