covid's Issues

Support HTTP GET params for regions and date ranges

It would be good to be able to create and save a link that ends with GET params that specify the range and lines on the graphs, like "?regions=US,Spain,Italy&start=2020-03-01" Then we wouldn't have to go and select "Clear All" and add regions and mouse-wheel/drag on charts every time we open the page. (Or, for discoverability, if the feature already exists, to provide a link to the current configuration/preferences with a "Share" button or link.)

Improve data range slider

  • Fill in the range between markers
  • Fix outline bug in Safari
  • Make width adjustable to window width
  • Give it a nice-looking label

Color of lines

Is it possible to allow for more line colors or allow them to be changed somehow? Or perhaps add a cycler for line style in addition to color? When adding new regions, the line colors cycle and it is hard to differentiate new regions from the default plotted ones. This happens even if you remove some. For example, adding two new regions creates a blue and orange line. If you remove all default regions except US and Italy, you now have two blue lines and two orange.

Dates can get out of sync

One of the goals I had in mind for this page was to show all the data with a consistent set of dates to make comparison easier. Unfortunately, it's possible to get the x-axes out of sync with each other. c3js doesn't appear to have a way to listen for changes to an axis.
