rem's Issues

Error on El Capitan

This looks like some very useful and fantastic software, but I can't get it to execute on El Capitan:

Receive errors like this when running rem ls :

2015-11-07 16:39:27.399 rem[15163:43163097] [com.apple.calendar.store.log] [Tried to connect to XPC persistence, but connection was invalidated, retrying...]
2015-11-07 16:39:27.399 rem[15163:43163097] [com.apple.calendar.store.log] [Retried too many times, giving up.]
2015-11-07 16:39:27.400 rem[15163:43163097] [com.apple.calendar.store.log] [Couldn't start the XPC store server. [Error Domain=CalPersistenceCreationDomain Code=3 "Could not create XPC connection to the CalendarAgent, connection interrupted or invalidated more than 5 times" UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Could not create XPC connection to the CalendarAgent, connection interrupted or invalidated more than 5 times}]]

Any ideas?

Feature Request: Improve Org Mode Integration

See post on Org Mode list here about integrating Reminders with Org using rem:
https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-orgmode/2015-05/msg00556.html

This setup could be greatly improved if rem offered:

  • An Org Mode compatible print format
  • Reported the scheduled date of tasks
  • Reported the priority of tasks
  • Included (in a LOGBOOK?) the Reminders List and Item# so that when completing something on Org, it could be removed (via the rem command).

All that would help Reminders -> Org.

In order to support Org -> Reminders, when creating items:

  • Allow the list to be specified.
  • Allow a date to be set
  • Allow a priority to be set
  • Allow notes

able to view links from Mail or Safari

In Reminders.app you can link Safari or Mail links so when you click on the item it directs you to the Safari Web Page link or specific Mail.

So adding this information could be very good, especially when you use rem for org mode sync between Reminders.app and emacs org mode

Thanks

Does this really require a full Xcode installation?

Hi, this looks like it might be an excellent tool (I'm particularly interested in the org-mode integration). But does it really require a full Xcode installation to compile it? I am a bit hesitant to download 4.41 GB just to compile a command-line app. Is it not possible to make it compile-able with the Command Line Tools? Currently I get

$  xcodebuild
xcode-select: error: tool 'xcodebuild' requires Xcode, but active developer directory '/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools' is a command line tools instance

Yosemite has broken this tool

I love this tool. Worked like a charm under Mavericks. Unfortunately, an "upgrade" to Yosemite has broken it. I get the error:

rem[6673:47520] [com.apple.calendar.agentLink.xpc] [Creating a remote proxy object for com.apple.CalendarAgent.proxy resulted in an invalid con

nection. The connection will be removed. Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4099 "Couldn’t communicate with a helper application." (The connection to service named c

om.apple.CalendarAgent.proxy was invalidated.) UserInfo=0x7ffb68c00920 {NSDebugDescription=The connection to service named com.apple.CalendarAgent.proxy was invalidate
d.}

Any help very warmly received!

compiled version

Could you please provide a build? Installing Xcode only because of rem seems a bit extreme :).
