The 'Original' Bug
[The team marked this bug as a duplicate of the following bug]
Contacts with the same name should be allowed as a new contact
There is no reason for you to disallow users with the same name from being added to the contact book if they have different phone numbers and email addresses. This feature is limiting to the product's usage if the user has multiple friends with the same name.

Their Response to the 'Original' Bug
[This is the team's response to the above 'original' bug]
It would be confusing to the user if there are 2 duplicate names. For example, if the user wants to call his friend John Doe, but there are 2 John Doe in the list, how will he know which John Doe has the correct phone number to his friend?
It is only a minor inconvenience. If you have 2 friends with the same name, you might put other details in the name. Eg. John Doe NUS and John Doe Church.
