ayintheme's Issues

Long Title Non-Wrap issue

Hi!

Getting this issue on the pieces that have very long titles.

I think the sub headings should be reserved for descriptions of pieces that we add editorially, e.g.:

Footer convo

Jeff:

Do you need Ayin's social media info?
The Mailchimp connect?
Our G Suite info for the forms?

If you need that info for footer, lmk how you'd like to receive it, and lmk if there is any other info you need.

Create the About Page

This needs to incorporate a section to donate that contains an anchor link.

This is the current About page:

Curated Images for Home Page

I am going to send an email to you, Jeff, with the finals. Will gather ASAP. we can close it out here once you get that info.

Last thing (more a note to self):

I am going to review all Lightbox feature stuff and make sure it all works together. (Decide if Sam and I need to create any unique assets, etc.)

Another extra: the alternate shape on hamburger dropdown

For both you of you:

Sam, should we build an animation for the symbol at the top of the hamburger dropdown (with darker teal background on the .pdf mockup)? Too much work in this timeframe? Assuming yes.

Jeff, is there a default animation (or set of options we can choose from)?

Adi Liraz piece

I had a question about adding interactivity to one or two of the photos, so that specific parts of the image link to different texts.

I am assuming this is an entirely different development project, but did want to check in about this. I'll add more details later today.

To discuss. Not sure how hard that is, and def don't want to overburden/go out of project scope.

Fix the mobile menu functionality

  • The primary menu is not opening on mobile.
  • the close button placement of the cart on mobile needs to be reworked.
  • The TOC does not scroll (tested on iPhone)

Tehila Hakimi post – issue

It seems like the Tehila Hakimi post is not pulling the author name at the bottom, and also not connecting with TOC. Not sure why, thoughts?

Footnotes

Will add more comments here about footnotes.

First question - is it possible to decrease size of superscript numbers? Right now they are super noticeable, but maybe this is a best practice for web?

image

Second question - is there a way to automate this like the byline and subhead?

How do you upload .gifs?

trying to add the Ayin .gif to the top of the about page, as it is in thee last website, but it just creates a black box.

TOC Scroll on Desktop

Hi! Let me know if I should re-open a closed issue for this or not.

On my computer screen, I'm not able to scroll to see the bottom of the Table of Contents:

I'm not zoomed in at all, just on a small-screen pc laptop for this view.

Post title thread

Let's go over this on the call,

  • just confirm that style sheet from the .pdf to implenet
  • and also check in on what lattitude we might have for longer names and multiple author

Design Thread

Hey, here is an ongoing design thread.

  1. Right now, as we discussed, Connie's piece has a featured image for a thumbnail but does not become the hero. I took it off featured, bc I wanted to see it more accurately shown without the hero.
  2. The lines for nav bar and T.O.C. I think should be a little thicker.
  3. The color on the T.O.C. should be the coral – that looks orange –– but maybe I sent the RGB?

Table of contents Thread

Let's check in on

  • color, and some functionality re: it not obscuring too much when it is closed.
  • Alphabetizing names on the list
  • how to deal with longer names (or multiple authors)

Video player alignment bug

I can add screenshots from other thread in a bit. for some reason can't do full widths (and the one lower than that) for video in Connie's piece.

Style the shop page

The shop page needs to match the design more closely, and allow for filtering by product categories:

Home page

Hey, starting a home page thread:

  1. I don't think the hero should be a carousel, I think it should cycle through the curated images we chose (and will finalize). Each should link through to the journal landing page.
  2. Also we are wondering if it should be not full width of website, but the width of the margins, so that the images are not cropped (and we should probably not use vertical images, unless we crop them accordingly so we can revise the curated list). –– we can also screenshare (another option is just making the top hero taller, but that will likely have the same issue)
  3. I think the Ayin One: Tardema should be larger black and the full width of the image (I have sat 85 font, which may be too much, in the Adobe .pdf) and "black," as was in the mock-up I sent. Will re-send image below. After that title we will have the editors' note (excerpt) right below.
  4. I don't love the explore journal button as it's treated right now –– but I think right below that will be editors note, and then we can maybe get an "explore journal link" at the end that is not a button.
  5. Maybe we need an about page tile in the bottom that's there, so people can see what Ayin is without going to the "about page"... but maybe maybe that is redundant. not sure. we can also figure out a way to integrate the about text after we get the basic home page skeleton down.
