Is this a good place to suggest new features for board moderation that weren't possible until now because of the HTML caching in kusaba x/tinyboard/wakaba?
If so, I would like to suggest:
- Shadow bans (posts only visible to the person who posted them, so that they are unaware of the ban)
- Hiding bad threads by moderators (a thread becomes hidden on the index page by default, so that users have to click the "Show thread" button if they wish to view them)
- Using evercookie to combat ban evasion by users with dynamic IPs

@szalwia All of your suggestions deal with keeping people off the site, or tricking them into thinking their posts can be read. With that sort of technology, anonymity becomes a sort of guise, not a real trait.
The only thing I could consider implementing is the hidden thread business, but even that is really pushing it and I don't see much of a need for the feature.

I used to moderate boards where dynamic IPs and persistent ban evasion were a big problem that we had to deal with on a daily basis, putting a lot of additional load on our moderation staff. Being able to use a feature like shadowbans in extreme cases to delay the time it took for a person getting banned to change their IP and start posting again would have helped us a lot. I do agree, however, that using an invasive technology like evercookies to track users probably wasn't the best idea.
I could see myself using the hidden thread feature on slow moving boards that employ a 100% free speech policy to have a way to deal with really low quality content/borderline spam without actually deleting the thread, similar to how the bumplock/permasage feature in vichan is used now. It would be a nice extra tool to have in the moderation arsenal.
